Preview: A Year on The Edge, Nature Photography with TJ Vissing
In the fall of this year our photographer, TJ Vissing, will be featured in an exhibit about The Edge of Appalachia Preserve. Working with The Nature Conservancy, Rick Conner of LPK, and FotoFocus, TJ will be presenting a year’s worth of photography that tells the story of this preserve’s natural beauty.
The Edge of Appalachia Preserve is one of the hidden treasures in our area. It is one of the largest privately-owned preserves east of the Mississippi. The name comes from the location on the western flank or “edge” of the Appalachian Escarpment. After the event, this work will continue to be used in awareness campaigns to promote the preserve.
“It has been therapeutic to go out there and immerse myself in this beautiful place. It has brought me back to why I got into photography in the first place.”
– TJ Vissing
Below is a preview of work TJ has been preparing for the show. Enjoy, and stay tuned for updates as we get closer to the exhibit.
The preserve is owned and operated by The Nature Conservancy and Cincinnati Museum Center. If you would like to help, you can get involved with the nature conservancy online.
